How we research and write, and the claims we won't make.

Last updated October 13, 2026

Who writes our guides

Guides and equipment pages are written by the Everyday Able editorial team. We research equipment and the rules around it; we don't test products, and we don't publish ratings, reviews or “best” lists.

Sources

  • Coverage rules come from official sources such as Medicare.gov and the federal regulations themselves.
  • Product specifications come from manufacturers' manuals and specification sheets, with the date we checked them.
  • Supplier information comes from the CMS Medical Equipment Suppliers data, and later from businesses that confirm their own details.

Every guide lists its sources, and each fact that isn't common knowledge carries a numbered citation.

What we won't claim

  • We don't give medical advice, recommend equipment for a condition or say whether insurance will pay for you.
  • Our guides are not medically reviewed, and we never say they are. Clinical and equipment-safety guidance will wait until we have a qualified review process.
  • We never say a supplier has stock, rents, repairs or accepts a plan unless the business has confirmed it.
  • We don't invent customer stories, quotes, prices or statistics.

Money and independence

There are no ads, affiliate links or paid placements on the site today. If we add them, they'll be labeled where they appear, and payment will never decide which equipment or supplier we describe as suitable. See our affiliate disclosure.

Photos and illustrations

The photographs on this site are AI-generated illustrations made for Everyday Able. They show everyday scenes and unbranded equipment, not real customers, businesses or specific products, and a photo of equipment never means a supplier has that model.

Updates and corrections

Each guide shows when it was last updated. When we find a mistake, we fix it and update the date.
